Artist Statement
For me, photography is the creative means of self-expression. Through the expressive images I create, I try to understand myself and reflect my inner feelings in a completely personal vision of the world around me. Its clearer understanding allows me to explore the fragments of life in its abstract form and communicate with people with whom I would have been otherwise very distant. My goal is to sensitize and to photograph at the right moment stories and details that other people overlook.
In my work I focus on human, on his existential questions and his relation to the environment in which he lives. I am fascinated by human filled with emotions, lonely, doubtful and searching for his place in society. I photograph not only his face, body fragments, but also his remains in landscape and urban agglomerations.
I am inspired by Freud’s uncanny moments, strange, clearly undefined, and anxiously ambiguous. I work with classic artistic means of subjective photography such as contrast of light and shadow, optical and motion blur, rough grain and anti-composition. I create black and white expressive images with a fantastic atmosphere that come from a realistic world into a space full of visual imagery, emotions and feelings.
